Something that means more to me than anything else in the world would probably be my girlfriend.  I’ve thought about it a lot and she definitely takes top priority over just about anything in my life. It’s not for any real romantic reason, like she’s my soul mate and my other half and everything is perfect or anything like that.  I just thought about it on multiple occasions and I really would give up anything to be with her.  Something about being with her is just right. It’s a little weird how it’s not really a conscious decision to want to be with somebody, but just something that you know is right.  Sometimes it’s a little concerning that I can’t back it up with reasons.  Other times I can kind of take comfort in the fact that it’s something I don’t understand.

Easily one of my favorite childhood memories would be playing with my dog when I was younger.  It didn’t matter what time of the day it was he just loved to play.  It also didn’t matter what you wanted him to do, he had his own plans. I remember when I was in middle school I would come home and wrestle with him.  Even though he was about 8 he still loved to fight.  He would jump up and claw at you, he really gave you a run for your money.  After a little while though, he didn’t want to fight anymore.  Then it was on to his other favorite activity, chasing. I guess being chased would be the better term to put there.  He didn’t really chase me much, but he loved to show that I couldn’t catch him.  Something about being a hunting dog just made him love running over under and through furniture.  It sure was fun being a kid with that old dog around.

There’s a lot things out in the world that people enjoy doing, only a few of them are for me.  That’s not to say that I only enjoy a few things, I just don’t enjoy what the main stream does, for the most part. I like going out with my friends, sometimes to the bars, but not usually.  Sometimes we’ll just hang out somewhere, somebody’s basement for the night maybe with some Xbox.  Other times we’ll go somewhere else for something to do.  Sometimes it’s the beach, sometimes it’s a Bar-B-Que at the park, it all depends on the mood. Other times though I just want to do some things by myself.  I like to run and work a lot, it takes my mind off of things and I feel accomplished at the end of it.  Other than that, I just love to sail, something about using the wind to go somewhere just feels cool.

Usually my parents cook dinner while I’m home; it’s a different story at college.  Most meals recently have been microwave potatoes and some kind of meat.  It’s a little bland for my taste and it seems like a waste of money. My parents went away last weekend so I got to make myself something good, and it was awesome.  There was fresh meat, potatoes and vegetables cooked on the stove top exactly the way they should be.  However, that was just that one night. The past few nights my parents didn’t feel like cooking, so we got a pizza one night and had the leftovers since then.  Cold pizza from the night before isn’t all that nutritious to anyone, let alone a college kid.

This recession seems to just keep dragging on.  It doesn’t seem to be getting any better, but then again it doesn’t seem to get any worse. It seems like certain industries are still making money, telecommunications, the food industry and technology companies, so it should be safe to assume there’s some hope of turning this around.  As long as people keep spending and keeping the money moving things should be able to get fixed. The government does have some programs that are actually pretty helpful is putting money back into the economy though.  The stimulus money for the highway projects does a good job of getting money to the people who will actually be spending it, instead of to top bank employees who will be hoarding it.

Today started off pretty normally, just a regular day.  I got up, reluctantly, brushed my teeth and headed off for work, a light breakfast in hand.  It never ceases to amaze me how many days of the week I am up before the sun is.  The thing that’s more amazing is how many other people are up also. Work wasn’t too bad, just went in and did the usual morning routine, same thing as every other day.  It was a lot colder today than most other days though.  That made it a little less enjoyable but it’s still good to be outside as oppose to working indoors.  After the morning routine was done we headed out for lunch.  That’s probably the best part of the day, after working 6 hours. After lunch we finished up and punched out.  Then, I finally got to relax.  Not too bad of a day, just hope tomorrow goes as smooth.

I have two cats and my mom has one.  It’s been an interesting transition for the three cats to adapt to living in one house together.  I have noticed that cats are very passive aggressive, and also indecisive.  One minute it seems like are getting along and the next one is hissing and all three are fluffed up and ready for action.  My mom’s cat is the biggest of the three, but she seems very meek around my cats.  She spends a lot of time hiding in my grandma’s room.  My little black cat likes to come out mostly at night and explore when everyone is sleeping. She slinks around and freaks out if you startle her.  She has huge green eyes and at night that’s all you can see.  She won’t let my mom per her yet.
